Summary/Abstract: The majority of studies on the Polish language didactics have so far focused on the subject of teaching Polish as a foreign language. The number of papers addressing the issue of teaching Polish as a second or inherited language is relatively modest. This paper aims at reviewing current terminology adopted in all the three fields of the Polish language teaching. The analyses performed involve the evolution of the Polish language didactics considered as a sub-discipline of the contemporary language didactics. Specification of scope of each of the teaching fields should contribute to further development of the Polish studies thought on language didactics.
