Calizna. From the peculiarities of Stanisław Pigoń's idiolect (based on the diary Z Komborni w świat)

Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to draw attention to the characteristic features of the language of the writings of Stanisław Pigoń - an outstanding literary historian and at the same time a writer who creatively referred to the folk resources of Polish language. The study has the character of a microanalysis based on tracing the type and semantic status of selected lexical units in the text of Stanisław Pigoń's memoir piece Z Komborni w świat, commonly regarded as a classic genre of Polish memoir literature. The author of the article made the single lexeme calizna the object of detailed presentation and analysis, the presence of which in Stanisław Pigoń's memoiristic work indirectly points to much broader properties of his language and writing technique. The final part of the paper also contains outline guidelines to meet the need for a more comprehensive description of the idiolect of Pigoń – scholar and writer.
