Old Albanian Literature as an Object of Interdisciplinary Observation: Values and Peculiarities Among Authors and Works

Summary/Abstract: The existence of a solid tradition of studies and researches on the old Albanian literature and the main authors that represent it proves the importance that this period of time beyond two centuries continues to have for Albanian studies and their particular disciplines. The fundamental texts of these works have been studied so far, the aspects of the authors' individuality that have devised such works, issues of an influence of each of the models of the time, and of cultures that have played a role in their formation. There are also studies on authorship issues related to some works of this literature, while historians of the Albanian late Middle Ages have carried out archival research on the documentation that sheds light on the circumstances of the realization of its works as well as the biography of the aforementioned authors. This period is one of the most important timeframes for the history of Albanian writing and written Albanian literature.
