UUPT and IPA phonetic transcription standards : the system of correlations

Summary/Abstract: In the paper “UUPT and IPA phonetic transcription systems: the system of correlations” by N. S. Urtegeshev, I. Ya. Selyutina, G. A. Esenbayeva, T. R. Ryzhikova, A. A. Dobrinina two articulatory-orientated transcription systems are compared. These systems allow to make both phonemic and phonetic transcriptions. One of the systems is the International Phonetic Alphabeth (IPA), and the other one is V. M. Nadelyayev´s Universal Unified Phonetic Transcription (UUPT).
