Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to check what punctuation recommendations are formulated in relation to the so- called parallel comparisons – constructions within single sentences consisting of correlated conjunctions, each of which introduces a separate component. For this purpose, using the method of content analysis, three studies were reviewed: Wielki słownik ortograficzny PWN edited by Edward Polański, Słownik inter- punkcyjny by Alina Gałązka and Jerzy Podracki, Poradnik interpunkcyjny written by Edward Polański, Ewa Dereń and Marek Szopa. The review of sources proves that so far, no uniform rules explaining the issue of punctuation of such constructions have been developed. The displayed descriptions vary in the degree of detail, emphasize various aspects of the problem and sometimes exclude each other. After presenting the content of the indicated studies and a short assessment of the solutions formulated in them, the text presents the proposal for a description, which is grounded in the previous normative reflections.
