Demokrat parti döneminde Türkiye dış politikasının Elâzığ basınındaki yansımaları
Reflections of Turkey’s foreign policy in the press of Elâzığ during the Democrat Party period

Summary/Abstract: This study aims to reveal the reflections of the foreign policies of the Democrat Party (DP), which has a great importance in our political history and the transition to multi-party life, in the Elâzığ press during the period when the DP was in power. Within the scope of the study, important newspapers of the Elâzığ press covering the 1950-1960 periods were scanned. The results obtained from Uluova, Turan and Elâzığ newspapers, which were important print media sources of Elâzığ in that period, were evaluated. The research framework consists of local newspapers published in the province of Elâzığ, news published on the foreign policies of the DP government and the researcher's comments. Within the scope of the study, newspapers published between 1950-1960 were examined and around 1200 news and written documents related to the DP were found. As a result of the study, in which the qualitative case analysis method was adopted, it was seen that the press in Elâzığ closely followed the foreign policy practices of the DP government and gave wide coverage to the developments in foreign policy in its news content.
