Summary/Abstract: This article describes a series of textbooks that has been created as part of a project to support the education of rare foreign languages in South Korea. Its presentation was preceded by an overview of publications that have been prepared for a Korean audience learning Polish as a foreign language in the 21st century. Having drawn attention to the interest of contemporary glottodidactics in contrastive teaching, the authors presented the specificity of textbooks addressed to the Korean-speaking learners, situating their considerations in a broader context – both historical (i.e. taking into account the context of the development of the described publications) and glottodidactic. The researchers attempted a kind of categorisation of the textbooks, pointing to four types dominant in contemporary glottodidactic materials. The paper focuses on a mixed model [Model 4], within which the publications created are co-authored by a native speaker of the language being taught and a native speaker of the learners’ language. Subsequently, four items of a new series of textbooks designed for levels are presented, falling within this model: A1, A2, B1, B2, prepared in 2019–2022 by the staff and collaborators of the Department of Polish Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul.
