Surnames and bynames of Gentry from the Historical Bielsko Land in Podlasie Derived from Heraldic Names

Summary/Abstract: The present article discusses and analyses the morphological structure of surnames and bynames used by the representatives of the gentry class of historical Bielsko Land in Podlasie in the period from the 15th to the 17th century. It turns out that anthroponyms derived from heraldic names constitute a small but extremely interesting group among all personal names. This type of personal names can be of great use especially in historical and genealogical research
