Summary/Abstract: Profitability is the primary goal of all business ventures. Without profitability, the business will not survive in the long term. So measuring current and past profitability and predicting future profitability is very important. This article examines the profitability of car dealerships in Bulgaria. Several characteristics of automobile distribution provide unique conditions for examining the effect of profitability on firm performance. There is a high degree of homogeneity among firms in terms of their activities and technology, their accounting methods, institutional constraints, and even size. The financial performance of automotive dealerships is shown through accounting ratios that measure the firm's use of capital, such as profitability. Analysis of competitors' prices and own sales and margin data can help determine where changing prices can increase overall profitability.
