Summary/Abstract: Emilia Kiereś’s prose strongly reflects the changes in the way of presenting nature thathave taken place in children’s literature. The writer shows nature in a romantic, fairy-tale or eco-realistconvention, triggering the ideas of eco-philosophy and inscribing them into the current of ecologicalhumanism. The most interesting realization of eco-philosophical ideas is found in the novels thatmake up the Tin Series: Srebrny dzwoneczek [A Silver Bell] (2010), Złota gwiazdka [A Gold Star](2018), Miedziany Listek [A Copper Leaf] (2019), and Cynowy rycerzyk [A Tin Knight] (2022). Theircharacters live leaning towards nature, which is waiting for them just outside their window, offeringthe attractions of the garden and the forest. Working and playing in the garden, trips to the forest andcontacting animals allow them to experience harmony, which facilitates interpersonal contactsand relationships with other beings and promotes sharing of the world.
