Summary/Abstract: The article explains the potential of creative reading in the development of critical thinking of the child reader and their personality formation at junior school age. It maps research findings from scholarly articles that indicate necessary changes in the approach to working with the literary text in the educational process in primary education to develop reading interest and sustainability of children’s readership.
