Patiance for the text, or narration about a story

Summary/Abstract: Starting from the fact that the postmodernist writer needs patience in constructing his text as he has at his disposal most varied procedures, topics, motifs, genres, as well as the resources of »high-brow« and »low-brow« literature, the paper illustrates the complexity of postmodernist narrative techniques on Borges's story On the Traitar and the Hero. Borges has indicated the beginnings of various stories but he has not completed them. He leaves it to the skill and knowledge of the competent reader to complete the stories and he reckons with his patience which is enhanced by his curiosity. On the other hand such behaviour of the narrator and the reader, as well as their interweaving, reveals the pleasure of writing/reading.
