The Effectiveness of Financial Support Instrumentsfor Business Activities from a Sectoral Perspective

Summary/Abstract: This research is an evaluation of the long -term efficiency of business start -up subsidies intended for the unemployed in the context of employment sustainability in selected industries. It was carried out on a group of beneficiaries from the Subcarpathian Voivodeship between 2015 and 2022. The study was conducted using desk research, statistical analysis and a systematic literature review, using empirical data from the Central Register for Information on Economic Activity and the Public Assistance Data Sharing System. As a result of the analysis, information was obtained about sectors of the economy where bene-ficiaries had most often set up companies and which sectors had the greatest employment effectiveness. Based on the results, introducing amendments to the regulations for granting financial support seems justified for those unemployed who wish to launch a business, for example, as regards verifying their qualifications or necessary experience. The resulting study fills a gap in the literature about the lack of information on the employment sustainability of beneficiaries, or the form of assistance in selected sectors
