Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the stages an actor should go through in order to acquire his character’s specific way of thinking. After a brief theoretical presentation of these stages, the applied part focuses on the steps undertaken by the author in building-up and assuming the character of Ofelia from „Gertrude”, directed by Silviu Purcărete, who decided to have an-all men show. Impersonating a female character for the first time was a more complicated task than expected, but assuming each stage and the overall vision proposed by Silviu Purcărete and Dragoș Buhagiar, the scenographer, has led to assuming the character all-in-all.
