Summary/Abstract: The Author addresses the role of animals usedin Slavic black magic rituals with regard to theirqualitative and quantitative aspects by indicatingtheir species, colouring and the participation ofthe fauna in bloody dark magic rites. His area ofobservation was the concept provided by NatashaHelvin in her book Russian black magic. Overthe course of the analysis of the study the Authorwas able to determine which animal was most activelyused by the sorcerers: a black rooster. Theresearcher provided an answer as to the causes ofthis state of affairs and highlighted the ruthlessobjectification of all animals in the practices ofblack mages.
