Summary/Abstract: There is something in society that cannot be killed with violence. It is found in every society, an invincible sense of interrelatedness and interconnectedness. The character of this resilience exemplifies who human beings are as individuals as well as members of a community. The mission of International Forum Bosnia has been to bear witness to this truism. In 1998, when I attended the Bosnian Paradigm Conference in Sarajevo at the Holiday Inn, I was engaged by this mission. For me as for others, the conference was formative. This community of scholars and activists remains my imaginary audience when I write about Bosnia.
