Summary/Abstract: The paper considers the communicative needs for the foreign language users in the engineering professional domains as the input basis in applying those instructional methods suitable for the study of languages for specific purposes. The evaluation of the experiment carried out at the Technical University of Cluj was meant to identify the effective teaching strategies able to enhance the technical students’ performances in using specialty languages.
