Summary/Abstract: The text is a practical proposal for integrating elements of the Oxford debate into Spanish lessons in the spirit of the task-based approach. It introduces the theoretical assumptions of the task-based approach, emphasizing the effectiveness of language learning through its application. The designed scenario for Spanish classes uses the Oxford debate as an effective form of consolidating difficult grammatical issues, especially the use of the conjunctive mode (subjuntivo). The lesson plan includes preparatory exercises, practical tasks, and the Oxford debate as a final task, which is performed by the students. The aim of the project is not only to develop students’ language competence but also to improve their ability to express and present their views in a foreign language.
