Summary/Abstract: The text presents an overview of trends and transformations in NATO’s communication and information systems and reveals the need for acquiring new capabilities of the command and control system of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Bulgaria, as part of NATO’s federated networks. Determined are the directions for the development and modernization of the communication and information systems of the armed forces at national level – in the context of a comprehensive reengineering of the network communication and information infrastructure.
