Summary/Abstract: Behavioral problems in children such as anxiety, depressiveness, aggression, violent forms of behavior, etc., are becoming a major global problem. Accordingly, there is a growing interest in interpreting the etiology and prevention of these forms of behavior, evident in recent extreme cases of violence committed by children. Previous research has identified several risk factors at the individual, microsystemic, and macrosystemic levels, and special attention is paid to the family as the closest microsystem to the child. Family factors include the family environment, parenting style, and parental involvement, among which parental styles represent the most commonly questioned variable. The link between parental style and behavioral problems in children has been the subject of much research, especially in recent years. To deepen the understanding of this relationship, the paper will seek to provide an overview of different research and point out key prevention models accordingly.
