Education for values and humanity in prevention and facing with crisis

Summary/Abstract: In the first part of the paper, through the introduction and theoretical elaboration of education for values, the issue of relation of values, education as a humanistic vision of a good man and crises in today’s times is thematized. The paper further offers reflections on the role of higher education in explicit education for values in conjunction with lower levels of education and other educational socialization factors. Higher education, as a creator of social processes, should clearly within the culture of the educational system, through its curricula, teaching approaches, materials, projects, practicals, etc., nurture and promote values as the basis for building a healthy society and engaged citizens. Education for values is not something that is only intellectual, but also emotional and volitional in its nature. As a contribution to reflections on the role of higher education in promoting values, the paper provides an overview of certain research projects, practices, experiences and proposals for future educational activities.
