Summary/Abstract: The present work is an essay on the role of the Romanian people throughout history, seen as a people of the Limes and defending their homeland territory. The emphasis is placed in particular on the situation of the inhabitants of Năsăud, where, at the end of the 18th century, the Habsburg Empire created the Second Romanian Border Regiment.
