Summary/Abstract: Agriculture continued to be the main economic branch in Năsăud between 1870–1895. The agricultural activity was oriented towards the cultivation of cereals and vegetables with a higher yield, towards the growing of fruit trees and domestic crafts, the production being sold on the market of Năsăud. New elements of the market economy coexisted with old elements of the subsistence economy, due to economic backwardness and lack of support from the authorities.
