Summary/Abstract: Geopolitical events, constant technologic development and challenges of cutting edge technologies, such as quantum technologies, 5G or Artificial Intelligence (AI) have been shaping and strengthening the European Union's security solutions, including with regard to cybersecurity.In the early 2000s, the European Union adopted the first documents that recognized the importance of addressing cybersecurity issues. Starting with the 2003 European Security Strategy, which contains concrete references to cybersecurity, over the following years, the European Union gradually developed more specific policies and frameworks dedicated to cybersecurity, through strategies, legislation and soft law toolboxes in the 2010s, to currently comprehensively addressing the evolving challenges in the digital realm.The current paper aims at emphasizing the recent evolution of the European Union Cybersecurity Policy, with regard to the main strategic policy documents, legislation and initiatives in the four communities of cybersecurity: internal market, law enforcement, diplomacy and defence.
