Summary/Abstract: In 1983, the economic crisis in Romania intensified fact that had a negative impact on the living standards of the population. The present study highlights the dissatisfaction of the population in the Timiș County due to the lack of food, and other basic necessities, hot water, heating, as well as other measures (some of them exaggerated) taken by the central and local communist authorities.
