Summary/Abstract: The Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization will be held this October 2010 in Cape Town in the Republic of South Africa. This Congress represents the continuation of the activities of the Lausanne movement initiated 1974 in Lausanne, Switzerland, where the British theologian John Stott and the American evangelist Billy Graham held a Congress who delivered the Lausanne Covenant as the first statement of faith of the global Evangelical Christianity, a movement that today has hundreds of millions of members of so called free-churches, mission organizations and educational institutions. Article briefly shows foundational presuppositions for the initiation of this movement and its development to this day.
