CONTRIBUTION TO THE ANALYSIS OF AN OLD QUARREL BETWEEN SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES: PROBLEM OF FUNDAMENTAL LIMITATIONS OF SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE

Summary/Abstract: A big problem in contemporary culture is the fact that humanities are severely neglected. It has been claimed that humanities are inferior to natural sciences and mathematics because they are not as accurate, veritable, credible and „scientific” as natural sciences. The main thesis of this paper is that it is a big prejudice of contemporary culture and that humanities and science are identic as far as the fundamental limitation of scientific knowledge is concerned; their essential similarities has been analized in the text, with focus on the argumentation of the great scientists themselves.
