Summary/Abstract: This text investigates essential relation between national identity and cultural identity, sheding the light on its various aspects. At the first sight national and cultural identity seem as opposite categories, mutually excluding. On the other hand, more detailed analysis shows this phenomenon as front and back side of the same value. In this context author puts an emphasis on the role and importance of personal taste and national taste as indicators of cultural conditions in certain society.
