Summary/Abstract: The manner of worship, both who and how, directly influences the shaping and creating of our beliefs throughout our life journey. Furthermore, cultural evolution greatly impacts the quality and approach to the worship today. During the first four centuries the early beginnings of Christianity created a novel style of worshipping God through liturgy and praise. Over the centuries, combined dialectical-syntethic methods portray the differences and similarities between liturgy in the Roman-Catholic Church and Evangelical churches. In the Catholic Church the Sunday liturgical structure emphases the Eucharist and serves as an announcement of the kingdom of God, offering a chance for change and spiritual renewal. At the same time liturgy in most Roman-Catholic churches jealously preserves traditional values somewhat stubbornly, resisting the cultural transitions of society and resulting in the trend of new generations more and more losing interest in active dedication to the Lord and their personal spiritual enrichement. On the otherhand, modern worship in Evangelical churches, influenced by culture has become relatively suppressed. One way for the Evangelical church to become more effective, for a start, would be to establish a more traditional foundation so that the primary aim of worship focuses on God and not on secondary alternatives such as lighting effects and band performances.
