Summary/Abstract: The paper presents an approach of cognitive anthropology to myth(ology) and to approaches of classic authors to the latter, in order to form a single interpretative apparatus. The functioning mechanisms of myth(ology), that is – its influence on creation of cultural-specific concep-tualizations, ie. epistemology, and characteristics of myth(ology) from the perspective of the approach mentioned above are also thoroughly discussed.
