Summary/Abstract: In the territory of Romania, the Geto-Dacian period cannot be regarded as one charac-terized by the existence of an autochthonous philosophy, one’s thinking being connected to my-thology and then to religion. Despite all these facts, the wisdom of the Gets was recognised by the authors of that time, while the “philosophy” of Zalmoxis – sometimes associated with Pythag¬oras – is still on the verge of being reconstituted, just like it happens with the local Pantheon. After the transformation of Dacia into a Roman province, folk deities survived, being transformed through interpretatio romana and being syncretically assimilated to the Roman ones. According to some historians, it is Zalmoxis’s morality which facilitated the introduction of Christianity in our territory.
