Summary/Abstract: The Third Partition of Poland caused significant territorial changes, as vast areas that had previously been part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth came under the rule of the Habsburg state. Created at the request of the Austrian authorities, the Dio- cese of Kielce changed its nationality twice during its short existence. First, in 1809, it became part of the Duchy of Warsaw, and after the Congress of Vienna it became part of the Congress Kingdom. This article presents the individual stages of the formation of the Kielce diocese. Particular emphasis is placed on analyzing the structures and composition of key diocesan institutions, such as the cathedral chapter and the episcopal consistory in Kielce, as well as the colleges of honorary canons of Tarnów and Kielce. In addition, the composition of the consistory office and the group of pro-synodal examiners of this diocese are also discussed.
