Summary/Abstract: This study interprets the nature, role and place of political privilege in French absolutist society. The manifestations of privilege under Louis XIV are analysed, while relevant conclusions and generalisations are drawn. Diagrams have been drawn up as illustrative material and corresponding charts of the classification of privilege in feudal France.
