Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the Jewish community which, in the course of the 16th century, was constituted at Libeň near Prague, now part of the capital city as one of its quarters. The author pays attention to the origin on the Jewish community, its development from the 17th to the 19th centuries including the occupational structure and the development of the economic and social position of the Jews in Libeň. The Libeň synagogue is also mentioned. At the end of the paper the readers learn about the legal position of the Jews at Libeň and the administration of the community.
