Summary/Abstract: The charge against the scholar and Chief Rabbi of Prague, David Oppenheim (1664-1736), was brought by the “first Prague coffeehouse proprietor“, Georgio Diodato. The introductory part of the paper surveys the sources concerning the event. The neKt part deals with Georgio Diodato’s life and the conflict between Diodato and David Oppenheim, while the third part analyses Diodato’s attack against Judaism resulting from the contemporary ideology of Prague Jesuits.
