Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of a linguistic experiment, which consisted in determining the stereotypical perception of the lexeme “Germany” by Ukrainian refugees who found themselves outside Ukraine after Russia’s full-scale invasion. The dynamics of stereotypical ideas about Germany before moving to it and after their immediate stay were traced. This aspect of research was based on the methods of associative experiment and cluster analysis. As a result, the main thematic groups of stereotypical ideas about Germany present in the linguistic consciousness of Ukrainian refugees were identified. These are values, food and drinks, social sphere, attitude to the country, culture, production, people, war, refugees, locality, and nature. In conclusion, we can say that because of the forced emigration of Ukrainians, ethnic heterostereotypes are transformed into autostereotypes, and the content of thematic groups and the semantic meanings of the toponym “Germany” indicate cor- responding changes.
