Summary/Abstract: The article defines the main stages of development of the Orthodox community of Konin and its vivinities. It presents the characteristics of the basic social and professional groups shaping the mosaic of this community. It emphasizes the role of the Orthodox Church in the life of Russian-speaking inhabitants and allows us to have a brief look at the development of Orthodox communities in other counties and governorates of the Kingdom of Poland.
