Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to reconstruct the contemporary debate about patriotism within citizenship education in English schools. It is assumed that both national identity and citizenship are the changeable social construct but also the subject of politicization and educational policies. The paper also reveals that patriotism in English schools is dispersed or crystallized depending on political orientation.
