Summary/Abstract: Dracula has remained one of the most enduring characters in popular culture. Going beyond Bram Stoker’s novel, Dracula has been transported in various media, including cinematography. While his presence in live-action productions is not out of the ordinary, Dracula has also appeared in various animations. This paper analyses the different impressions Dracula has left in animated adaptations, ranging from a father and monster-hotel runner in the film Hotel Transylvania (2012), a vampire hunter in the OVA Hellsing Ultimate (2006-2012) and an antagonist in the series Castlevania (2017-2021). Animation provides great opportunities in illustrating complex narratives and visual images that can portray Dracula in various roles.
