Summary/Abstract: Funeral sermons are a source of interesting information about the history of everyday life, but can also be a contribution to national history. In the article, I decided to examine the Laudatio funebris from the 17th century, which was written on the occasion of Stanislav Thurzo's funeral, and to find out whether it could also have the so-called "second life" in the works of historians who worked on Hungarian history immediately after the death of Palatine Stanislav Thurzo, or history of noble families.
