Summary/Abstract: A special kindergarten provides the required support in the process of development of a child with an autism spectrum disorder in a specifically adapted environment. Children with autism spectrum disorders can develop their abilities and skills through specific approaches and therapies that focus on the child's comprehensive development. The primary role is played by the cooperation of the family and their active participation in the training process in the home environment, which is the most natural place for the child. The paper provides the theoretical foundations of some approaches and therapies, the knowledge of which is important for the profession of a special educator.
