Summary/Abstract: he article aims at evaluating the professional activation activities undertaken in relation to unemployed persons on the regional labour market. It is based on the evaluation of accuracy, effectiveness, utility and durability of the activities supporting unemployed persons by workshops, courses, internships, and apprenticeships. The level of the adjustment of these activities to the needs and challenges of the Opole labour market is assessed. The support applies to the activation activities financed by the European Social Fund Plus as a part of the Regional Operational Programme for 2014–2020. The research area covers the Opole Voivodeship (Poland), a territorial unit of the NUTS-2 type (administrative region). The research results indicate that the intensity of the offered support paralleled the territorially diverse unemployment phenomenon, i.e. it reached these labour markets of the Opole Voivodeship where the slower growth in workplaces and low entrepreneurship index were observed. The support was mainly directed at the persons in extremely difficult situation on the regional labour market: women, the long-term unemployed, the low-qualified. Additionally, but on a smaller scale, it was aimed at people over 50 years of age, although their allotment in the structure of unemployed persons is relatively high.
