Summary/Abstract: The paper aims at displaying the concept of energy communities that can support the necessary energy transition in the E.U. on the example of energy clusters created on the premises of the Opole Agglomeration. The energy transition in the E.U. is supposed to be implemented on the basis of decentralised productive units, which enables the citizen to co-manage the energy sector. The source materials include domestic and international texts as well as Polish and European legal acts in the field of energy transition, energy communities, and energy clusters. Additionally, the analysis focuses on the strategy records of three Energy clusters created within the Opole Agglomeration. The article discusses the chosen problems featuring in energy communities. It also indicates the plausible recovery activities with the benefits of their implementation.
