Summary/Abstract: This study analyzes the history of the Mining Office Horní Slavkov in the period 1650–1867, stored in National Archives in Prague, and the usefulness of its records as a historical source as well. The creation and functioning of this office are placed in the wider context of tin-mining history in The Slavkov Forest (Slavkovský les) in the north-western Bohemia over the period of its existence.
