Taking out from the background. Memory and dreams – about certain aspects of the narrative in Michał Głowiński’s books

Summary/Abstract: The article shows the relationship between memory and dream descriptions in the autobiographi- cal prose of Michał Głowiński. The meaning that the author gives to dreams and the special atten- tion paid to them indicate that they are treated as an expression of emotional work taking place on the border between the conscious and the unconscious. These analyzes confirm the need to dewelop this issue in research on the Holocaust due to the connection between dreams and trauma.
