PRODUCTION, REVENUES AND EXPENDITURES OF THE TOPČIDER ECONOMY IN THE 1872–1889 PERIOD

Summary/Abstract: The paper sheds light on the revenues and expenditures of the Topčider Economy and agricultural production in this government estate. The Topčider Economy was one of government experimental estates, aimed at promoting agricultural production in Serbia. It applied new agricultural methods and raised imported cattle that was crossbred with domestic breeds. Topčider was also known by the production of fruit nurseries that were sold at favourable prices across the country.
