Summary/Abstract: The paper concentrates on the famous Czech writer Božena NĚMCOVÁ and traces one of her German inspirations: Heinrich VON KLEIST. It also examines two Czech collections of poems from 1940 (by Jaroslav SEIFERT and František HALAS) and two German works by the author Dagmar KNÖPFEL (from 2000 and 2004) to demonstrate Božena NĚMCOVÁ’s “life” in the 20th and 21th centuries.
