Summary/Abstract: Starting from the possibility for shareholders to derogate from the rule one share – one vote, this article examines whether and under what conditions multiple voting shares may be issued. The scientific approach reviews not only the applicable legal framework, including from a historical perspective, but also the relevant doctrine and jurisprudence, as well as aspects of comparative law.
