Summary/Abstract: European Community, in order to strengthen its economic and social cohesion, aims at reducing disparities between the levels of development of the various regions and the backwardness of the least - favoured regions including rural areas. The actions supported available to cohesion policy should be concentrated on promoting sustainable growth, competitiveness and employment.
