Digital transformations of dwellings: metamorphoses of a home

Summary/Abstract: The study is focused on a number of digitally-driven metamorphoses that are to be found in the human dwellings of the 21st century. The digital transformation in lifestyle is traced in housing needs and processes, residential interiors, as well as groups of homes through examples from the beginning of the century to the present time in Bulgaria. Interactions between material (real) and digital artifacts and items are analyzed; perceptions and possible relationships between digital images are compared. The aim is to clarify and classify roles of digital tools (and twins) in nowadays residential architecture and design. Concepts are examined and the hybridization of the environment is presented. The expected results are in the field of history and theory of architecture and design.
